Data Backup
If you do not have an up to date backup at the time of checking in your device for service, a technician will assist with backing up the device to an external hard drive prior to repair. In the event that data loss occurs during repair, a technician will then restore the contents of the backup to the device.
Data Migration
A technician will set up your new or replacement device, and migrate all your data from your old device, iCloud, or a backup made with an external hard drive using Time Machine. After the data migration is completed, the technician will then assist with configuring apps, such as email, and assisting with personalizing settings.
Data Recovery Tier 1
A technician will recover documents, photos, and other files from your hard drive of a non-functional computer. This information will be transferred to another computer, external hard drive, or memory stick. Cost of storage media will be additional to the service fee. Tier 1 data recovery is for desktop computers or portable computers with easily accessible hard drives for removal.
Data Recovery Tier 2
A technician will recover documents, photos, and other files from your hard drive of a non-functional computer. This information will be transferred to another computer, external hard drive, or memory stick. Cost of storage media will be additional to the service fee. Tier 2 data recovery is for desktop computers or portable computers with hard drives embedded into the logic board, or harder to access hard drives, such as for an iMac.
OS Reinstallation
A technician will erase the contents of the hard drive, and reinstall a fresh installation of the same or newer version of the operating system.
Hardware Repair
All hardware repairs typically take 5-7 business days to be ready for pickup once checked in for repair. An estimate will be provided before proceeding with the repair.
Diagnostics Fee
A $79+tax diagnostic fee will apply for repair estimates that are declined after check-in.
